Rosemary's June Biscornu

Stitching right up to the last day of the month again. I was inspired by a family wedding this month so this biscornu is dedicated to the lucky bride and groom, David & Sonia. The bride's bouquet had red flowers. Pattern is a freebie from http://aurelle.over-blog.com/; threads are DMC floss; red flowers are DMC variations #4200; fabric is 32ct. white linen; about 3" across.

Allie's June Biscornu

Here is my June biscornu; and below are all six of the biscornu I have completed so far this year.

Half Way Point

Well we are nearly to the half way point, well done to everyone who has managed one every month up till now. There have been some fantastic designs, colours and buttons I'm really astonished at just how many different designs there are.

To mark the half way point I am going to post in the side bar a list of all the names of everyone who has managed 6 Biscornu, could I ask that before the end of June you check the labels on all your posts to make sure it includes your name as I will use this to count your biscornu. I have also noticed a few draft posts as well could everyone check to make sure that all their posts have been posted correctly I would hate to miss anyone out. When I post the list if I have missed anyone out please feel free to shout up and let me know. (And as always if anyone is not sure please ask)

Happy Stitching everyone.

Tigerin81's June Biscornu

This month I came up with a Christmas biscornu. Maybe it's because of this awfully hot weather we are having here that I started looking for winter designs. While stitching I was dreaming of cooler days.

The pattern "A Holly Merry Christmas" by The Sweetheart Tree.
Stitched on 28ct. antique white evenweave with DMC, perle cotton and metallic threads. Decorated with 11/o Czech beads, two nice buttons and 4 bells. Finished with a piece of fabric for the back side.

And yes, now I'm half way through!

Olga's June Biscornu

As hardanger became very popular recently I decided to try this new technic as well. When I started I didn't know what it is going to be. Idea to make out of it a biscornu came to me only after I finished the piece.

Antonina's June Biscornu

I was looking for some flower designs, as I wanted flowers... Moreover it have to be roses as I've dream in time to make biscornu with charming clay roses buttons (or beads) made by my Israeli friend Elena. I found the pattern among old magazines issue. It's a very simple design, but when I added clay roses and then ribbon roses it turn to very beautiful and very sweet craft piece.

Melissa's June Biscornu

This is my girly biscornu. The designs came from issue 151 of The World of CrossStitching. The fabric is 28 count evenweave (2 over 2) that I dyed. I was going for lavender but ended up with soft pink. Oh well. I did change a few colors to suit the fabric and my style (the wine was supposed to be pink but I only drink red wine).  There are little beads along the edges to give it a little more sparkle.

This was a freebie offered only for a limited time and I don't think it's still available, but I'm not positive. Thanks for looking. I am really enjoying seeing all your beautiful stitching and very sorry that my eyes have really cut my computer time something awful so I just can't make comments on every one. Keep up the really great work everybody.

I'm not sure I'll get anymore biscornu stitched for a while as it'll soon be the summer hols.

Terry's June Biscornu

Well, it's the start of the summer months for me.... school is out for kids and the weather is warming up, so I thought what would be more appropriate than having a little sun. This is a cute design that was originally designed as a scissor fob, but I turned it into the biscornu. You can find this design at www.clioratha.net/TorRhuann.html . If it's not appropriate to show where to find this design, please feel free to remove. I used a Dinky Dyes Oops silk and changed each of the sunshades to be a different color(purple, green, and black) even though it is hard to see in the picture. The design is stitched in a diamond shape, so I had to create a square backstitch around it to make it squared. Clear as mud?

Again, everyone has been doing some lovely designs. So tempting to do them all. And thanks for looking at mine!

Kathy's June Biscornu

Here is my June entry in the Basket of Biscornu! I used a Just Nan chart from 2004, but sadly I could not find it on her webpage. It is called Beaded Roses and was designed to be framed in a tiny crystal frame, but since it is square, it is a perfect design for a biscornu. Nan has other small patterns that make nice biscornu too, so check your stash! The pattern also included the beads and crystal for the center top. I stitched the scalloped border for the bottom and added a small button.

Marie's June Biscornu

Yes, I know it's only June 4, but I have been in hospital with nothing to do but stitch!! So I am finished early :-) This stunner is Strawberries N'Bees by Veeandco. I used 28 ct white evenweave and DMC floss. You can see the reverse side at my blog.

Charts and Designers

Hi everyone I received a lovely e-mail today from Faby Reilly complimenting every ones lovely stitching and stating how honored she is to see some of her own designs on here.

It was also brought to my attention that maybe we aren't crediting the actual designers properly within our posts, after all it is there fabulous work we are stitching, so if everyone is happy enough to do so I thought it might be a good idea to include the following information as standard within our posts.

Name of Chart (including whether it is a freebie)
Name of Designer (including link to designers website or blog)
Fabric stitched on (if known)
Threads used (if known)

If anyone wouldn't mind editing their previous posts to include this information it would be greatly appreciated.

Happy Stitching
