PurpleTX April Biscornu

Here is my April contribution.
Theme this time for the oneI designed is April Showers. (Yes, May is going to be flowers.)
April Biscornu

Trillium's April Tulips Biscornu

I finished this biscornu the first week of April but did not have batteries for my camera. I'm sliding it in under the wire for this month.

I apologize for the fuzziness. Sometimes I think the camera is focused properly and then find it was not. This is a freebie design from somewhere on the web. It has the word "esther" in the file name. I think it was downloaded from a bunch of antique cross stitch charts from an old pattern book posted on the web.

I chose this design because I wanted to stitch tulips for the month of April, and this design looked like tulips open and closed. It is stitched on 28-ct. white linen, and I added some green seed beads in the center.

Antonina's April Biscornu

Ursula Michaels is one of my favorite designers. I used her pattern "Scissor fob" for my April biscornu. I like it very much!!!

Lesley's April biscornus

Hi, my name's Lesley and I seem to be addicted to making biscornus! I hadn't planned to make one at all this month, but about 10 days ago, I just had to drop what I was doing to make one. Well, two actually! As a compromise, this month's biscornus are a bit smaller than normal.

This one uses two squares each 30 stitches per side and a very simple design with added buttons.

This one was a challenge to myself to see how small I could go, so it uses 2 squares, each 10 stitches per side and each side is decorated with a Jessica stitch.

Tigerin81's April Biscornu

Nothing fancy this time, just some simple celtic motif. Does it seem to be a little lost in ribbons? By the way, this is my first two-colored biscornu.

Terry's April Biscornu

Girls! You all do such beautiful work! Congratulations on all the gorgeous biscornus!

At long last here is mine at long last! It took me forever to find what I wanted to stitch. Then when I started it, I was doing real good until I had gotten to the last side and realized on the 2nd side I was one stitch too many. So I compromised by deducing the overall size of the design, and like it so much better!

Now, I'm off to dig through my stash and see what I can find for May flowers for next month's biscornu.

Faye's April Biscornu

Hello everyone, I decided to stitch the freebie Moroccan Tiles. I added an additional row of stitching at the boarder to make it a little larger. I also chose a colour by Threadworx that resembled colours used in Italy and Morocco.

Marie's April Biscornu

I can hear everyone saying I should have been stitching this one for October, but I couldn't wait that long lol. It is a freebie from Faby Reilly - Spider Biscornu. I used my own Blue Opal hand dyed fabric and DMC threads, plus some kreinik for the cauldrons' contents

Kathy's April Biscornu

Here's my April biscornu, by Toni Fojtasek for Dinky-Dyes. The Pansy Biscornu chartpack comes with the silks. Finished it last night, April 15th.This is the top before assembly, the second picture is the complete biscoru. The bottom is plain except for a gold ring and the second pansy button.

Melissa's April Biscornu

This is from Matroishka biscornu. It is stitched on 28 count amaretto light Jazlyn from Zweigart. The colors were inspired by my friends boys favorite foods. Her oldest loves lobster so the darker side is stitched with Crescent Colours HDF - Lobster Claw. Her youngest LOVES macaroni & cheese so the lighter side is stitched with Crescent Colours HDF - Macaroni & Cheese. I have nick-named this biscornu V&J (the boys initials).

The photo with 4 biscornu is showing all that I have stitched for this challenge. The other photo is all the biscornu I have stitched since I discovered them late 2008.

Yoyo's April Biscornu

I had managed to kill two birds with one stone again this month by combining 2009 Christmas Ornament Challenge with Basket of Biscornu Challenge with this little gem.
Poinsettia Biscornu by Pam Kellogg,
Kitty & Me Designs
JCS Christmas Ornaments 2008
32 ct "Putty" linen & DMC floss
Since I'm not a real big fan of beads I just don't have a bunch around so I used large colonial knots in the flowers and small french knots on the "star" motifs. I like it just as well with all the knots as I would with beads. You can see the knots really well in the close-up photo. The photo in the top left is pretty true to color, I have no idea what happened to the other two.
